Invacare GHS350 Get-U-Up Personal Stand/up Self Lift Review

I didn't buy it from Amazon. It came from a Medicare durable equipment place but I wanted to say something here anyway. It is just the thing for someone that can't quite get out of a chair to toilet or get to bed. There is a sling available thatgoes around the back and under the arms that lets a caregiver with limited strength raise the person from a wheelchair and lower the pants and transfer to a bedside toilet and then reverse the process. It really is the answer for a lot of people. It works for getting them from the bed to a wheelchair or vice versa just as well. The big advantage of this lift over a Hoyer type lift is that the pants can be lowered/changed while the patient is suspended with this lift because the sling just goes around the upper back and chest. There is also a second type of sling available that has additional attach points under the thigh for more incapacitated patients but it looks to me like this sling would make it harder to lower pants for toileting or just to change clothes. The Invacare Hoyer type lift is indispensable though for getting the patient off the floor if the patient has slipped or fallen to the floor. Get them both.
