The chest piece is aluminum, so it's not as great at sound conduction as stainless steel would be. That said, for general assessments, BP, etc., this scope will work well. I think it also has a parts for life program through MDF, so that's pretty nice.
I wish it had a non-chill rim like the Littmanns do, but that's life. I haven't really missed having the bell yet, but I'm sure that for certain auscultations it would be a necessity (bruits and such). But for taking to a health fair and checking John Q. Public's BP it will suffice. Breath sounds and apical pulses are strong and loud, but aortic and pulmonic take some concentration if in a noisy room.
It also came with extra ear tips and an extra diaphragm.
If you are looking for a slightly more versatile and sensitive scope from MDF, I highly recommend MDF MD One Stainless Steel Dual Head Stethoscope Color: BlackOut' (All Black) . It's a great step up from the Pulse Time, has the non-chill rims for patient comfort, has a bell and sounds great. Personally, I use it more than I do my Littmann Classic II S.E. FWIW.
Hope this helps!
